Southwark has one of the highest levels of child obesity in the country. More than 40% of the borough's children are classed as ''overweight and obese'' when they leave primary school, and that's storing up a lifetime of health risks for the next generation. We need to talk about weight concerns and what we can do to shape up Southwark for the future.
NHS Southwark and Southwark Council are holding an open discussion on 24th November to gather views, ideas and information, so if you are a Southwark resident, a concerned parent, or if you work or volunteer with families and children in Southwark, please come to join in the conversation about our children's health. Flyer available here.
Date: 24th November 2011, Time: 12 - 3.30pm, Venue: Thurlow Community Hall, 1 Thurlow Road, SE17 2US.
